Office building: new hat

Paul Schmitthenner again visited

Only with delicate filigree chasing and a miniature appendix the slate roof is to be an otherwise rather sedatelooking office building of the mid 30s in the volume of the Alsacian Paul Schmitthenner born in Louterbourg processed according to the rehabilitation of commissioned H.R.Hiegel.

Schmitthenner will soon be at an urban planning exhibition, silent object of desire.

Two architectural historians, Jean-Louis Cohen and Hartmut Frank, Schmitthenner specialists since the 80s, will take on the subject.

Let rivers of living water flow. More impressions of Hiegel's site are here... In own mattes: the series of "No information. ... ", launched on the occasion

of an exhibition of European architecture, years ago, is coming to an end ...

BAU.11

Save the date; Sunday 13 March 2011

Still far away, but here are preliminary concepts, created in part with the assistance of Werner Sobeck.

After two successful international disputations "small cities" (2007 at Daimler-Benz-Foundation & the conference "urban design" 2009), "BAU.11" will attempt another approach with Building as an expression of the (archi-)cultural progress of society and as well dealing with the subject of immobility-mobility, energy / emissions. Ideas are welcome.

The Old Man and the Sea

Oscar Niemeyer building

At the age of 102 years, a legend of the 20th Century created a new masterpiece.

Under the premise of the symbiosis between art and society, an anti-(O.Cr) Camorra's consortium, the company Edilatella, created the new symbol of the musical Ravello on the Amalfi coast, just about 60 kilometers south of Naples.

O.Cr. now held a most interesting event on comprehensive social aspects at the KIT in Karlsruhe:

Encouragingly, how Italy represents architectural formative roles in shaping the future.

In comparison to the Old Man, the still young architect H.R. Hiegel, 56 years, will give a reading to architectural aspects of that history on Tuesday, 27 April 2010, in Frankfurt, Karlsruher Street,

south of the main station on the river Main, with the title "How I got a new name."

Architect Fritz Nathan and author Valentin Senger will be co-actors.
